Ontario curriculum based science units with a nature twist! All four units will cover the science curriculum with the exception of coding and indigenous perspectives. Each science unit includes pdf instructions and all relevant handouts and digital resources (where applicable).

Required materials
Gr 4 habitats: Blank paper
Gr 4 rocks: Examples of rocks and minerals, suggested list includes granite, basalt, limestone, sandstone, marble, gneiss or schist, quartz, mica, potassium feldspar, Plasticine, 3 different colours, Containers of sand / gravel, Dimes or markers, Objects to represent houses, animals, trees, Spoons and/or sticks / skewers
Gr 4 machines: Pulleys (optimally 2-3 per learner), Gears and platforms for anchoring gears (can be made of corrugated cardboard), String, preferable single strand or non-fraying, Scissors, Axles for gears, Cardboard, Containers, Small notebooks - 1 per group of 6, Bucket or container for each group of 6, Found materials for construction, such as popsicle sticks, scrap paper, skewer, tape
Gr 4 light: Sound experiment materials selected by learners, such as water in glass cups, headphones, bouncing balls, cups, string, Light experiment material selected by learners, such as CDs, flashlights, water glasses, mirrors, prisms, Materials for building a light or sound creations, such as balloons, straws, CDs, paper towel tubes, mirrors, recycling containers
